(Petro) Chemical industry
Heat exchangers and coils
In the pilot-plant technology and for (scientific) research purposes small to medium size heat exchangers are indispensable. Because of the use of unconventional media (gasses/liquids) special heat exchangers are often required. The processes in a reactor during a reaction should also be heated, cooled and controlled. EWAC designs and manufactures heat exchangers, coils and jackets for these special applications.
Series of coils
This series of coils with different coil diameters is manufactured for four heat exchangers. These coils are also cast in aluminum in order to keep the process safe
Hairpins
Hairpin heat exchanger. This assembly is mounted in a shell afterwards.
Twisted spiral exchangers
These twisted spirals are cast in aluminum in order to ensure a good heat transfer and to exclude any leakage between the two media.
Reactors and Autoclaves
For research and development of new reaction processes in the chemical and petrochemical industry, we design and manufacture, the most diverse reactors and autoclaves in collaboration with our customers. In general, the pressures and temperatures under which reactions take place become higher and higher, and sometimes the corrosive properties of the medium also plays an important role. It is our challenge to find the right material for the design within the specified design criteria that complies with the applicable regulations. This serves as an impression of the experience of EWAC in the design of reactors and autoclaves.

Cryostat
In this reactor, a gas under a very low temperature (-196 °C) is liquefied by pumping liquid nitrogen through the jacket.
Research column
Is equipped with sight glasses on both sides to enable to visually inspect and expose the process over the entire length of the column (4.5m). Fluid with solid particles. Material: 1.4402, P = 23 bar, T = 30 °C.
Pressure vessels
EWAC Industrial is focused on the manufacturing of custom made pressure vessels. We often take the lead in translating customer requirements into a physically feasible pressure vessel, taking the applicable laws and regulations into account. Because each design is unique, together with our customer we formulate the functional requirements, and we work out the design of the pressure vessel on a drawing. After verification of this design by the customer, as well as the Notified Body (Lloyds/DNV), we can manufacture the pressure vessel in-house completely. This gives an impression of our capabilities.
Liquid / liquid separator
Example of a separator under very high pressure (150 bar). This device is equipped with sight glasses so the customer is able to see the transition area between the two fluids inside the separator. Material: Stainless steel 1.457; Pressure: 150 bar.
Scrubber
Installation for removing pollutants from the emissions of a chemical process. This so-called gas scrubber is entirely built out of duplex due to the severe corrosive process conditions. Material: 1.4462; Pressure: atmospheric.
Series of Pressure Vessels
Small series of five pressure vessels for a pilot plant. The vessels are equipped with a connection flange for mounting a level-measuring instrument. Material: 1.4404; Pressure: 2 bar.
Reaction Column
Reaction Column for a petrochemical pilot plant.
Feed Vessel
Fitted in a mobile frame, for use in a production line. The vessel has been equipped with an instantaneously lockable funnel for easy charging of the vessel.
High pressure separator
Pressure vessel for the separation of liquids at high pressure. In the photo, the vessel is tested at a pressure of 290 bar.
Three-phase separator
For the separation of three distinct phases in a pilot plant. Material: Hastelloy, P = 250 bar, T = 120 °C.
High pressure separator
Separator for the separation of different phases of fluids. Material: Hastelloy, Pressure: 250 bar, Temperature: 350 °C

Condenser
The condenser is equipped with a cooling coil for the condensation of a hot gaseous substance. Material: Hastelloy, P = 15 bar, T = 300 °C.
Mixing vessel
For the production of soap suspensions. The vessel is equipped with an agitator that produces an output of approximately 3kW. The vessel can be emptied under pressure. The underside of the vessel is equipped with a heating jacket. Material: 1.4404, P = 2 bar, T = 120 °C.
Probes
The probes that EWAC manufactures are used in the petrochemical industry to take samples from operational processes for analysis. The probes are designed and manufactured based on customer specifications, and calculated according to the rules that are specified by the customer. Depending on the requirements of the customer a manufacturing report is added which includes documents relating to welding qualifications, material certification, non-destructive testing (x-ray or penetrant) and the results of the pressure test. If necessary probes will be inspected by an independent third party (Lloyds/DNV).
Sample Probe
For taking samples from a production flow. Because the probe is part of the production system, it needs to be compliant with the Pressure Equipment Directive
